Last month we completed new stress tests on the power capacitor cells at the test facilities of Flanders Make. Here’s one of the results you can find in the full report. An 18650 cell (2,7V / 1.3 Ah) is fully charged at 10C (13 A at 2,75V) and then discharged with pulses of 6 seconds at 20C (26 A) and 24 seconds at 1C (1,3 A). The test is executed at room temperature with no cooling. The temperature reaches a maximum of 48°C. The power capacitor was charged with about 3Wh of energy and released its energy in about 450 seconds. This is not R&D. The cells are in production.
