The sustainable LFP alternative
Sodium-ion cells are a new alternative to Li-ion, especially LFP cells. The first benefit is that no Lithium (Li), Nickel (Ni) or Cobalt (Co) is used but rather the much more abundant Sodium (Na). Hence it score much better on the sustainability scale. There is no mining issue and recycling is easy. This contributes to a much lower production and life-cycle cost.
In addition Sodium has a wider temperature range, more power and more cycles than typical LFP cells.
